AnythingElse: I was very impressed that the practice fit me in on the same day despite me not even being a patient at the surgery, and the reception staff and dental assistant were lovely. I called because I was concerned I had an abscess and didn't want to wait until Monday to see my regular dentist in case it got any worse. While the surgery was immaculate and pleasant to sit in whilst waiting, I found the dentist that saw me was very rude and impolite. Luckily I did not have an abscess, it was instead a severe burn in my mouth, however the dentist acted as though I'd wasted their time and spoke to me like I was stupid for not knowing the difference between an abscess and a burn. While I had never had one before given that I was in a lot of pain, couldn't chew without pain and had a slightly swollen cheek I felt I should get it checked. I feel given that I paid for my treatment I was fully entitled to do that without being patronised. While I'm very grateful that the surgery fit me in and saw me on the same day, I absolutely did not deserve to be spoken to in the way I was. I went because I was very concerned about how much pain I was in, and instead I felt humiliated.
