AnythingElse: I am a dental phobic and am petrified of dentists. One of the dentists here was recommended to me by their sister practice in Kesgrave and I must say what a nice person they are. 1st appointment they took a brief look in my mouth and said to me that we should clean my teeth before we go into x-rays and stuff, I have a gag reflex. One week later and I am back for a clean, only my 2nd time there but the receptionist greeted me like a friend. Within 10 minutes I am called by the dentist's assistant who has some mild banter with me to calm me down. Entering the room my dentist is relaxing reading a newspaper and the assistant says jokingly shall I do the cleaning on this one. They say yeah if that is ok with me. Anyway banter aside it was a relaxed atmosphere and I felt calm in the chair. My mouth was numbed and we started, slowly but surely getting rid of over 10 years worth of cacius and tartare build up. We had to stop a couple of times due to my gagging but as soon as I raised my hand the dentist stopped straight away giving me a chance to compose myself. after 20 minutes i rinsed and was about to sit back for the rest of the cleaning and the chair was raised and I was told that,s it we are done. The dentist said to me have a look in the mirror and Wow my teeth were clean. I have to go back in 3 months for a check up but I am not dreading this at all. If you have a fear of dentists then go see this dentist they are brilliant and a very patient understanding person.
